About Me!

Hello! My name is Jenna Berg and I am going into my fourth year of psychology at UVic! I am from North Vancouver and moved to Vancouver Island almost four years ago for school. I really love and miss my home on the mainland, the mountains were perfect for snowboarding, the hiking was amazing, and the sometimes warm ocean was right there. I have become an island girl though, everybody here is so sweet and creative. In school, I am most interested in and specializing in the mind and brain stream of psychology. Although it’s hard, I love learning about the brain and how neuroscience connects to mental health and lifespan development.

I am taking this EDCI338 course not only because I believe it to be beneficial to almost every major, but also because my computer skills, or lack thereof, are something I definitely need to improve before moving into a professional career. I am so horrible with technology and anything to do with the internet that I need a course like this to prepare me for postgraduate, so please be mindful of that when my poorly edited blog reflects that!

After studying at UVic, I am planning on going international for my research and for my master’s degree! I need to take a few years off after getting my first degree so I can work and be able to afford an international master’s degree, but I have tunnel vision on that goal until then.

Apart from studying and working, I love being outside in the sunshine mostly, but fall and winter are my personal favourite seasons. I enjoy yoga daily, it has been something that shapes my morning routine for years and I am always trying to improve and recommend it to others. I also am very very into fashion, if I could afford my dream closet, I would die happy and be buried in my Isabel Marants and my Balenciaga City Bag. Aside from my other hobbies, I mostly just find happiness in being surrounded by my friends. I have spent a great amount of time this summer on trips with some of my favourite people and I have no regrets! I went to Salt Spring Island for the first time with my girls, went on the long journey to Savary Island and stayed at the most beautiful beach cabin ever, got to party in Vancouver for Canada Day/The World Cup/Asap Rocky concert, then road tripped down to Calgary for the Stampede, all before my summer courses started and I had to journey to the library. I am excited to see where this course and my first blog goes!
